Where does a Purpose Physical Therapist see patients?

Purpose Physical Therapy is a mobile clinic that can meet our patient’s where they are. We can see patients in their homes, at their workplace, the gym, or even at the park. We also have a clinic location that is available for treatment sessions.

Do I need a prescription or referral to see a Purpose Physical Therapist?

In Wyoming, you can see a physical therapist without a doctor’s referral for 12 visits or 30 days, whichever comes first. To continue treatment past this time, you will need a referral. This is a state law which applies to all physical therapy clients whether they pay cash or use insurance benefits. There are certain times that we may require a referral to start treatment (for example if you have Medicare). We will discuss this when we set up your first appointment.

How does receiving care outside of a clinic affect my insurance coverage?

Physical therapy is a covered service under most insurance plans. There is no restriction on where the care needs to take place. You can be seen at your home, your family’s home, the park, or any other place you feel comfortable. Think of the options! We can see you on the golf course, at the recreation center, at your worksite. The possibilities are endless!

Do you take HSA/FSA cards?

Yes. You can use your HSA/FSA cards to pay for treatment.

What should I expect at my first visit?

  1. The therapist will have a conversation with you regarding your medical history, your current problem/complaint, how this problem is impacting your daily life, and your goals related to physical therapy.

  2. An evaluation is then performed in which the therapist will perform ROM and muscle strength testing, neurological screening, special tests, and posture assessment.

  3. The therapist will then discuss their results with you and together, with you and your doctor, the therapist will develop an individualized plan to treat your problem and reach your goals.

How long will each treatment session last?

About 45-60 minutes.

Can I have my baby or child present during appointments?

Yes absolutely! One of the benefits of at-home care is that you do not need to find childcare during therapy sessions. We can also do specific body mechanics and postural training during baby care activities such as during holding or nursing.
